Colt Starting

Giving a young horse a good foundation is one of the best things you can do for them.  Through our training program, your horse can learn to be a willing partner on the ground and under saddle.  Your horse will learn to respond to its rider with confidence, and have the skills it needs to be a good horse in the arena or on the trails.

Below is a list of skills your horse can be taught in our colt starting program.

  • Haltering

  • Leading

  • Standing tied

  • Roundpen work

  • Bending/flexing

  • Walk, trot, canter, whoa, and backup

  • Obstacle work

  • Haunch and forehand turns

  • Trailer loading

  • Bathing (weather permitting)

  • Speed control

  • And much more!
